MSM was recognized by the award-winning publication, EXHIBITOR Magazine, with a Silver Award in the category of lighting design at the 34th annual Exhibit Design Awards.
(Rochester, NY) (April 30, 2020) – MSM was recognized by the award-winning publication, EXHIBITOR Magazine, with a Silver Award in the category of lighting design at the 34th annual Exhibit Design Awards. The ceremony was held virtually via Facebook Live on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
MSM and client Cisco were recognized for the 11,000 square foot double-deck exhibit designed for Mobile World Congress. The exhibit featured an expansive canopy of 701 strands of light, holding over 16,000 LED orbs. The lighting canopy meant to represent a bridge as a subtle nod to Cisco’s Bridge to Possible campaign and was programmed with a series of lighting effects carefully selected for Cisco’s brand palette. The effects were created by an alternating sequence of moving animations that when programmed, elicited a transfixing pattern of movement where the lights appeared to hurtle forward and slowly fade away.
When asked what the biggest challenge was in concepting this unique design, Matt Thomas, the exhibit designer of the winning project said “the most challenging aspect in creating the lighting design was working within the show’s structured rules and regulations, while accomplishing the powerful visual impact we and our clients had envisioned."
